Nothing has changed! The behavior is the same. Some folks never learn their lessons. It is difficult to teach an old dog new tricks. They see no need to change the “flavor” of their conduct because in their perfect world, nothing is wrong. If anything should change, it should be you! Why upset the apple cart! It is the “same soup warmed over.” It tastes the same, because it is the same! It reflects the status quo, an unchanging circumstance, and a lack of progress. Soup and people’s behavior can at times be very similar. Both can be enjoyable, bland, spicy, cold, warm, hot, unchanged, and unappetizing. Truly! Just observe and see! And lo and behold, some days, you just don’t desire the taste of the soup or the company of the person! Something different to spice up your taste buds and your life is desired! That’s just the way it is! That’s life! Photo credit: www.ww2.kqed.org

I know that you have undoubtedly heard the quote – "fat meat is greasy.” It is a generational expression that is similar to “a hard head makes a soft behind!” Parents usually echo those words when children are being mischievous.

Stop disbelieving what you see and smell (i.e. like the aroma of fat meat). Your eyes clearly reveal the grease. Right? It cannot be mistaken for anything else. Why test the waters? For sure, you don't know everything. I once thought that I knew more than my parents only to find out in my adult years that my children assessed their intelligence to be far greater than mine‘s! Go figure! I guess the “Apple does not fall far from the tree.” It usually takes a tolling of years and experiences to completely understand that fat meat is really greasy; literally and figuratively. It took time for us to learn simple things the hard way! “Learnt sense versus bought sense” had not registered yet; the pan drippings and the grease had clogged our cognitive thinking. We now know that what we took years to find was already in our old fashioned elders’ back pockets had we taken the time to stop, listen, and take their advice! Thank goodness – you’re never too old to learn!Whew! Stop testing the waters when you can visually and vividly see and feel that slimy grease extracted from the meat. I finally got the point so I am passing it down! Listen up! Don't ignore the obvious. Fat meat is greasy so you definitely don’t want to “jump out of the greasy frying pan into the fire!” Photo credit: www.blog.olilolo.com

It is a scientific fact that an empty wagon always makes the most noise. Even if it has no contents, it shakes, rattles, and rolls! You can often hear it long before you see it. Amazingly, people are no different. Generally, those with no substantial substance are the loudest. Even when they talk, there is no conceptual rationalization or meaning to the content of their speech. Their actions generally follow suit. No kidding! Pulling from years of wisdom, there is a solution for those “noisy, no content meaningless folks!” Here goes – keep your “empty” wagon self moving down the road but in the opposite direction. No one has the time to be bothered with shallow people. What a waste of energy! Besides, most people abhor ignorance and fools! What a toxic combination! The farther they are away, the better! It pays to have substance these days. Don’t you agree? Photo credit: www,bennywiley.com
