For those who study numerology, it is known that the number 12 symbolizes completion or perfection. Interestingly, the number 12 is used 187 times in the Bible. Not to overload your circuits but just for the fun of it, let’s review 12 Things to Remember. Read along. Shall we? 12 things to always remember: 1. The past cannot be changed. 2. Opinions don’t define your reality. 3. Everyone’s journey is different. 4. Things always get better with time. 5. Judgments are confessions of character. 6. Overthinking will lead to sadness. 7. Happiness is found within. 8. Positive thoughts create positive things. 9. Smiles are contagious. 10. Kindness is free. 11. You only fail if you quit. 12. What goes around comes around.

It may be wise to keep these 12 things in mind.

Why am I biting my tongue? There are a few things that's on my mind, but the words won't come out! My mind and heart are at battle right now over what to do! "What's the downside," I ponder. I have the answers. Here goes.

What may give me peace of mind as a release may cause an infliction of hurt to the ears that hear! Is this a legitimate reason to hold my tongue? Should I tell those folks that they selfishly only think of themselves; that they are non-supportive; that their lack of backbone hurts their spine more than mine? After all, everything will eventually come to light! Will my comments hurt the person's feelings though my words and truths are as clear as the sky is blue? Do I dare utter that everyone else talks about them behind their back? Am I hurting them by not telling them the truth? Questions, questions, questions!

Let's see. I trust my wisdom will help me make the right choice. Have you ever struggled with this issue? Are you cautious about not hurting other folk’s feelings even though they could care less about yours? My conscience always get in the way. It is a nuisance that bothers me sometimes and guards my tongue. Aw Shucks! Maybe I am in the minority and am not preaching to the choir. Some folks throw caution to the wind, blurt out what they feel like saying, and let the chips fall where they may! Admittedly, at times particularly with those who are razor thin close to me, I become too contemplative or judiciously concerned to find the right time, words, and place. Maybe, I am just who I am; me not you!

It’s Black Friday!

Will you be standing in the crowded lines and driving in congested traffic jams? Where are you going? Walmart’s, Target’s, Kohl’s, Best Buy….? Humorously, it's a misnomer. Black Friday should be called Green Friday. From the consumer’s hands, those green dollar bills start running like water. Kicking off the Christmas spending season, it is considered the biggest shopping day of the year.

Stores discount prices that they have escalated all year; people fight over big screen televisions because there are only a few in the store (wink, wink… those cheap advertised prices brought you through the doors). Some folks even camp outside stores for days to assure that they are the lucky ones to purchase those highly sought after cheap items. Fights and unruly violence have been known to occur. Yet year after year, folks go out in groves and stand in lines for hours as they cumulatively make Black Friday a $57 billion plus sales day.

This spending sounds very green to me!

Some personal bank accounts go from being in the “black” to ”red” because the overspending crushed their budgets! Today, this Black Friday, if I desire to shop, my fingers will go click, click to pick up on-line specials. Otherwise, I will be relaxing as I watch the crowds on my television in the comforts of my home! Photo credit: www.forcechange.com
