Love is a feeling that we desire. Absence a heartbreak or two, it makes us feel heavenly... most of the time. "Love is also a heartfelt emotion that comes automatically for a person as you will feel it in your heart. It penetrates your soul. And when that happens, your love will automatically pour out for the person just like rain. A true human heart should love without differentiating. Rain, when it falls does not choose the grass on which it will fall. For a better peaceful world, we should pour out our love like rain." Rain drops of love are certainly needed today. In fact, a downpour wouldn't hurt!

Today is Friday. Yea - TGIF!

As we wrap up our week, we may have dealt with difficult and challenging circumstances. All of us need encouragement, words of wisdom, and a pat on the back many days to keep going. Everyday isn't filled with sugar and spice and everything nice! That's life! So on days that become exhaustingly overwhelming, find comfort. The pressures may be tempting and silently blowing words into your ears telling you to give up. Don't! We have to stay in the game. We have to keep going, We have to heed the advice that the late great poet Langston Hughes gave us in his poem titled - Mother to Son. Let's read/listen to these amazing words and be encouraged and inspired together! Mother to Son

BY LANGSTON HUGHES Well, son, I’ll tell you: Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair. It’s had tacks in it, And splinters, And boards torn up, And places with no carpet on the floor— Bare. But all the time I’se been a-climbin’ on, And reachin’ landin’s, And turnin’ corners, And sometimes goin’ in the dark Where there ain’t been no light. So boy, don’t you turn back. Don’t you set down on the steps ’Cause you finds it’s kinder hard. Don’t you fall now— For I’se still goin’, honey, I’se still climbin’, And life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.

There is an old adage which says, "If you can't lick (beat) 'em, (join) 'em.” Similar to "Better bend than break," it implies surrendering when you're outnumbered, keeping your mouth shut, pretending you agree when you don't, and adopting their position even if it differs from yours. I ask, Why should I compromise my values?“

Having the courage to stand up for what I believe is better than joining the other side when I disagree. I am not one of those people "who go along just to get along.”

For at the end of the day, I have to live with myself and my decisions. So what if I’m outnumbered! I will stick to my principles. I don't have to join them! Having peace of mind is worth its weight in gold...even if I stand alone!
