Appearances can be deceiving. "Just because someone looks good doesn't mean that they are good for you. Even spoil milk is white."

Glitz and glam; the two go together. Hypnotically, your eyes follow the glitter. The sight is so captivating; it's mesmerizing; it can take your breath away. Keep looking and you might find that what you are viewing is misleading. Everything that looks precious may not be. That analysis extends to people, places, and things. Once you get to the core, and peel away the exterior, the real deal pops up. The "inside" is very telling! Similar to peeling back an onion, hopefully tears don't fill your eyes when the reality of the view does not glisten. Perceptions versus reality can become a game changer. Life's experiences will show you that all that glitters is not gold! Some find out the hard way. Nothing is worse than discovering what you thought you had was a facade. It is not your eyes playing tricks on you. It's the truth raising its head. How shocking is the appearance when the glittery shine is gone! Worse yet, the pot of glittery gold that you thought was yours belonged to someone else! What an empty and "broke" feeling that will for sure bring you down to earth. Your orbit is over when the reality stares you in the face. Don't be angry, be glad that you saw the real deal before it was too late!

Elegance never goes out of style. It dresses up a person with class. Hats contribute to elegance by adding a look of distinction. They are in a class all by themselves. I remember the days that you would rarely see a woman in the southern churches without a hat. The attire of my Mother, aunts, and women of her generation was not complete without their hats, and matching shoes/purses.. Sometimes, they added gloves to round out their look. How chic! For some women, hats became a part of their signature look.

Though not obsolete, hats over the years lost some of their once dominant popularity. They did not go out of style, but their appeal was diminished to the new generation. Hats are not embraced as they once were, but they have held their own fashion ranking particularly during worship service.

Sunday church service wouldn't be complete without the ladies wearing those decorative classy hats.

It is an undisputed fact that hats make a woman look distinguished, sophisticated, and all dressed up. Although I am not a hat wearer, I love the look! I love the elegance! I love seeing women wearing their hats as they make a definite fashion statement. It completes their look with a touch of class. In closing, I know that we all know a lady who personifies elegance - whether she wears a hat or not! Hats off to them! To the ladies in my reading audience , do know that we women are queens! To my male followers, every Queen needs a King!

We women should stand tall as we maintain high standards keeping our heads lifted high toward the sky … and of course strut in our high heel shoes. We deserve only the best! We should wear respect, class, dignity, and integrity. God fearing, we should exemplify the characteristics of the virtuous woman described in the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 31. Our value is far greater than rubies; we are priceless! As women, our internal beauty should be as radiant as our glow that is shone externally. Let's work to be the very best as we respectfully and elegantly stand out from the crowd! Photo Credit: www.tumblr.com
