it’s Hump Day!

The phrase alludes to the fact that Wednesday is the middle of the work week, meaning that one has made it "over the hump" towards the weekend. The halfway mark is always a good sign as we only have a couple more days to work before we can relax for the weekend. I’m delighted today as I do my lively cartwheels (figuratively of course) galavanting toward the weekend! See you later! Photo Credit: Pininterest

The media definitely influences our thinking. Use discernment to what you read, hear, or see from the media - be it radio, television, or print. Take a look at this photo. Both photographs picture the same activity, yet, the description is different. The top photo references the Black man as "looting," while the bottom photo describes the White individuals as "finding." Let's look at the associated definitions. Another word for looting is stealing. Finding means to locate. Said differently - The Black man stole food. The White individuals found food. So, there you have it! You saw it in black and white (print). The story paints the picture based upon race - Black and White. You be the judge!

How strong are you? Sometimes, we never know our strength until we are faced with situations that test us. Check out this mental strength test.

Mentally and emotionally strong women don’t do the following:

1. "They Don’t Compare Themselves to Other People. 2. They Don’t Insist on Perfection. 3. They Don’t See Vulnerability as a Weakness. 4. They Don’t Let Self-Doubt Stop Them from Reaching Their Goals. 5. They Don’t Overthink Everything. 6. They Don’t Avoid Tough Challenges. 7. They Don’t Fear Breaking the Rules. 8. They Don’t Put Others Down to Lift Themselves Up. 9. They Don’t Let Others Limit Their Potential. 10. They Don’t Blame Themselves When Something Goes Wrong. 11. They Don’t Stay Silent. 12. They Don’t Feel Bad About Reinventing Themselves. 13. They Don’t Downplay Their Success."

What a list; right? I'm digesting it and learning as I go. What about you?
