Never forget that there are those who have walked the path before us! Their footsteps have left visible grooves in the road. They provided us with a roadmap outlining all of the curves, bumps in the road, and danger zones. We can learn from them if we take heed of their advice. The obvious benefit is -

We don’t have to “go it alone“ and learn everything the hard way. As the old folks say, ”Bought Wisdom is Better Than Taught Wisdom!”

I heard that - loud and clear! It took me a while but I’ve learned my lesson the hard way... so you don’t have to tell me again twice ...anymore! Photo credit: facebook.com

As we begin our week, we may be dealing with difficult and challenging circumstances. All of us need encouragement, words of wisdom, and a pat on the back many days to keep going. Everyday isn't filled with sugar and spice and everything nice! That's life! So on days that become exhaustingly overwhelming, find comfort. The pressures may be tempting and silently blowing words into your ears telling you to give up. Don't! We have to stay in the game. We have to keep going, We have to heed the advice that the late great poet Langston Hughes gave us in his poem titled - Mother to Son. Let's read/listen to these amazing words and be encouraged and inspired together! Mother to Son

BY LANGSTON HUGHES Well, son, I’ll tell you: Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair. It’s had tacks in it, And splinters, And boards torn up, And places with no carpet on the floor— Bare. But all the time I’se been a-climbin’ on, And reachin’ landin’s, And turnin’ corners, And sometimes goin’ in the dark Where there ain’t been no light. So boy, don’t you turn back. Don’t you set down on the steps ’Cause you finds it’s kinder hard. Don’t you fall now— For I’se still goin’, honey, I’se still climbin’, And life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.

Many times it seems as if there are never enough hours in the day to complete tasks. Time moves at a rapid pace. We get caught up in our busyness. Despite it all, we have to take a pause. The system can get you so wrapped up that there is little time for anything but you and what you’re doing. Stop! Take a break! Don’t forget the people that you love and who love you. Don’t be so busy that you don’t have time to share with them. You're never to busy to show love, respect, gratitude ... Take the time to do it today! Your tomorrow may be too late!
