There is a discernable difference between our senses and our perception. Agreed? Do we always see what we think we saw? Our senses provide "data and facts but do not always allow us to perceive or experience the items our eyes actually captured." However, it is what we actually see that transmits to our mind and heart. Thus making our view of the look and our view of what we see not always synonymous.

It is often the unseen or the perceived that is far more important than the seen. We must sometimes "take in the world around us with our mind’s eye rather than just our physical eye.” This might sound mystic; right? Yet, once we take this approach, it may be interesting what we really see. It is then that we will fully understand the meaning of the Cherokee quote that was popularized by its native‘s son, Will Rogers - " it is not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."

You've heard of them I'm sure. "A vision board, your dream board, is a visualization tool which refers to a board (a collage of words and pictures) that represents your goals and dreams. It serves to inspire and motivate as it brings your vision to life. The reason that vision boards work so great is because you visually see them every day. Visualization is one of the most popular and effective mind workouts that you can do, even when you face setbacks." I have my very own Vision Board. It is not fancy at all; quite simple in fact. It is helping me to achieve my literary goals. It is keeping that vision right before my very eyes. Though the process isn't moving as fast as I would like, it's moving! I am making a dent. This has truly helped me appreciate that some movement is better than no movement at all. The more I do, the more I achieve; the more I achieve , the better I feel; and … the more disciplined, conditioned, and motivated I become. It is truly helping me stay engaged. As I walk toward the finish line viewing my vision board, I am grateful and thankful for God's grace!

"If you have ever felt inferior, or powerless, or like you are simply too small to make a difference in the world, you need to read this quote:

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”

Too often we feel like we are just an ordinary person. We forget that there is nothing ordinary about us! Every one of us is extraordinary with divine potential. And every one of us has the ability to make this world a better place. Not one of us can say we are “too small” to make a difference. So, if you think you are not worthy enough, embrace the saying - try sleeping with a small mosquito. You see mosquitoes are such tiny creatures, but one of them is enough to ruin a good night's sleep. So never think low of yourself. Even the smallest creatures of the world can do wonders" and so can you!
