WE FALL DOWN, BUT WE GET UP

    By Vernalee

    True.

Life throws us curve balls. Some we catch; others, we miss.

Sometimes, we stand. Sometimes, we get knocked down. But a Saint is just a sinner who fell down and got up. Every day, we should be thankful that God lifted us; thankful that he gave us a second chance; thankful for his mercy and grace; thankful for our comeback!

God is gracious In granting second chances. It has been said that ...

“We can’t run out of second chances…only time.

Every moment of your life is a second chance.

If God gave you a second chance…don’t waste it.

You’ve never gone too far that God can’t redeem you, restore you, forgive you, and give you a second chance.”

God granted second chances and forgiveness to Jonah, to Samson ... to you and to me!

2 Peter 3:9 tells us that “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Oh what a mighty God we serve!

    Happy Sunday and Blessings!

    HE'S AN ON TIME GOD

    By Vernalee

Growing up, I remember the old folks saying, “He might not come when you want him, but he’s right on time. He’s an on time God.” Those words stayed with me; they resonated in my soul.

My Mother was not an ordained minister, but believe me when I tell you this - that woman could preach; she could bring the word! Oh yes, she had a way of telling you things that you never forgot. She told me not once but over and over again, "Our God will never leave your side. Trust in him. She continued by saying -

He's a Burden Bearer and a Heavy Load Sharer. He is a Heart Fixer and a Mind Regulator. He is the Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end. No matter what you're going through, God will deliver you. Try him for yourself! You’ll never be disappointed. You’ll never be alone. Pray! And if you're gonna pray, don't worry. If you're gonna worry, don't pray. He'll hear your prayers whether you're in Mississippi or Ohio. You gotta have faith. Lay your burdens on him. He'll never leave you or forsake you!"

I say, “Thank you God for your love, blessings, protection, grace, and covering!

Thank you for giving me a praying Momma who taught me to stand on the Word; who taught me how to pray; who taught me to trust in the Lord!”

What she taught me, I taught my children!

As a family, our love for you Heavenly Father has traveled many miles, crossed multiple states, and has been planted in our hearts - one generation after another!

Thank you Lord for laying your life down so that we all may live! Happy Sunday! Blessings!

    THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE

By Vernalee “This little light of mine” is a Negro spiritual regarded as one of the Civil Rights anthems. The lyrics are indeed inspirational.

“Some claim the song takes its theme from Jesus' remarks to his followers. Matthew 5:14-16 (the King James Version) reads : "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." The parallel passage is found in Luke 11:33. Conclusively, the song reflects a global longing to be seen as a good person trying to make the world a better place.“ Many civil rights meetings in the 1960’s and 70‘s included singing “This Light of mine,” “ Go tell it on the mountains,” and ”We shall overcome” as all held hands for unity! We have always prayed to God for his love, mercy, grace, and covering! And he has always delivered us!

    Amen. Happy Sunday and Blessings!
