"He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" is a traditional African American spiritual, first published in 1927. The song has been recorded by numerous artists - Mahalia Jackson, Marian Anderson, Nina Simone, Andy Williams, Laurie London, among others. Regardless of the voice behind the music, the essence of the words assures us that God always has our well being at heart. Let's remember the scriptural admonition in Matthew 6:26-34. It reads -

26 Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be [f]added to you.

34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

For certain, God has the whole wide world in his hands!

The African Children's Choir crystallizes this message in song.

Happy Sunday! Be blessed!

Today, I humbly say, "Thank you Lord!" Thank you for life. Thank you for my wonderful family and all of my loved ones. Thank you for good health. Thank you for supplying my every need. Thank you for showing me how to love, receive love, and have people in my life that I love who love me back. Thank you for watching over and keeping me and my crew. My "Thank You's" are encyclopedic long. There simply isn't enough space. That's why with every breathe I take I remain humble, grateful, and prayerfully thankful that your arms surround, protect, lead, and guide me. I know Heavenly Father that because of your love, mercy, and grace, I am too blessed to be stressed! Amen!

Happy Sunday. Be blessed!

Do you really help people from your heart by committing total assistance and resources or do you give a token gift or nothing at all? With a token gift, you can pat yourself on the back and say that you helped a person in need. But did you do all that you could? Most folks dress up their “helping others along the way” answer. Who wants to look bad! Regardless of the camouflage, God knows the real answer! God saw what you did, what you had, what you gave, what you kept, and what you could have done! In 1 John 3:17, we find this scriptural admonition. “If anyone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion on them… How can God’s love be in that person?” Be true to thine self!

Did you really reach out and do your best? Shh...Don’t answer out loud! We can fool folks; but we can’t fool God! Photo credit: www.indulgy.com
