JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A MOTHER

A Boston-based ad agency, Mullen, created a campaign for Cardstore.com where 24 people interviewed for what they thought to be a corporate  “Director of Operations” position at a company called Rehtom, Inc (can you read backwards?).

The role had interesting requirements, such as:

• Must be able to work 135+ hours a week

• Willingness to forgo any breaks

• Ph.D. in psychology or real-life equivalent

• Crisis management skills a must

• Ability to manage a minimum of 10-15 projects at one time

• Ability to communicate at all levels (basic to advanced)

• Ability to work in a chaotic environment

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in negotiating, counseling and culinary arts

• Unlimited patience

• Understanding of social media, mobile devices and video games, finance and medicine.

And although the salary is $0, the job promises “infinite opportunities for personal growth and rewards.” After reading the requirements, "Who would want such a demanding job with no pay. " the applicants asked.

THE BACKSTABBERS … THEY SMILE IN YOUR FACE

By Vernalee In a clandestine fashion, backstabbers carry their knives behind their backs aiming at yours. Your self defense is limited when you cannot see your attacker. That is why the “back” is a perfect area to attack. Backstabbers use clever, cowardly, and sneaky maneuvers! Although there is no frontal view of the weaponry, the aim is to destroy you with calculated stabs. Unfortunately, many who have fallen at the hand of the backstabbers didn’t see the dagger until they were hit, because the attacker had a glowing 100 kilowatt smile from ear to ear before the tragic blow. Deception is one of their strongest suits. The vicious backstabbers will not only stab you, but turn the knife inside if given the opportunity. Of course, annihilation is their goal. Don’t feel bad, the best of us have been fooled by those smiley faces. Learn from experiences and don’t get stabbed twice! Self preservation is the first law of nature. Outsmarting the attacker should be your goal! Be careful of who you allow access into your space and life. If they are found to be unworthy, remove them or yourself. If you don’t, watch your back! LIFE IS PRECIOUS

Recently, I received a call that one of my college friends had gone home to be with The Lord. I was startled, speechless, and saddened. The breathe of life, something that many of us may take for granted is so very precious! Moments like these call for reflections. I thank you God for life! I thank you Lord for your so many blessings. I thank you Lord for your grace, protection, and covering of my family and me. I thank you Lord for uplifting my late friend’s family by letting them know that you are the resurrection and the light! … as you wipe their weeping eyes! I thank you God for all things particularly knowing that you are with us to shine light in our darkest hours.
