In the 1970’s, The Hues Corporation had a hit record that climbed the charts called “Don’t Rock the Boat.” Underneath its meaning, the suggestive overtone was to assess a situation before you address, act, or talk. As the idiom (“Don’t Rock the Boat”) suggests – people get upset when we try to change a situation, particularly when it is one that they want to remain the same. When the boat is rocked - we fuel changes and Ignite emotions. Our sudden and gradual movements can definitely tilt (or rock) the boat. However, sometimes we aren’t meant to be where we are! In such cases, getting off the boat is better than rocking it! You get the picture; right? Photo credit: www.mommyenterprises.com

Forgiving you is my gift to you. Moving on is my gift to me.”

The past is the past. Some things should be left there. Moving on can be so therapeutic. Sure, in many cases, this is easier said than done. The move may take tremendous courage and intestinal fortitude. However, once you begin the process, the transition cleanse your soul. It may become fundamentally necessary that you baptize yourself in what it takes to move your body, mind, and soul to a healthy and settling place. It’s better than the alternative, namely drowning yourself in an environment that brings you down. Let go! Move on! Live! Laugh! Love! Photo credit: FaceBook.com

The fiddle makes an incredible harmonic sound that can cause some people to dance up a storm. Speaking of fiddles, why do we always put a twist on words that changes the meaning? One such phrase is “play (someone) like a fiddle.” Translated, this means to

easily and deftly manipulate someone to suit one's own needs, ends, or benefits. Question -Have you ever been “played like a fiddle?“ Some of us have! Before you respond, think back. Think twice. Think hard. If you have been played, (it happens to the best of us), the goal is not to be played again! When you accomplish that feat, your music sounds better and reach greater heights than the ones who instituted the play! Now, that’s music to our ears!
