Get off your high horse means to stop acting as if “you’re superior to others. 

The phrase likely comes from medieval soldiers and landowners who rode large horses to show their power over others. “

Thinking you’re better is not a good thing. Stay grounded is always good. Humility is even better. Besides, it’s a long fall from that horse to the ground. Ouch!
