I have a loaded question for you. How often do you hold back your true feelings? How often do you bite your tongue because you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings - despite the fact that the same courtesy was not afforded you?
Well before you raise your hand, I have a confession to make. I am guilty! I'm guilty of holding back my feelings to not hurt someone else's.
I ask myself if there is an upside - to doing this just to keep the peace!
Over the years, the answer that keeps surfacing is NO.
The culprit who has caused the disruptions whose feelings that I don't want to hurt goes unchecked and will likely hurt someone else. Am I any better, if I hide behind this silent shield ? So, I guess I can honesty say, "Until I speak up and be honest, I am not better than them!"
The moral of the story is to address the elephant in the room. When we do, the air is clear and everyone can breath. When we don’t, nothing changes … which is where the tragedy lies!!
